I live in an old schoolhouse near Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport. 35 years ago clay chose me and I began making rustic stoneware pottery. A real alchemy happened when I combined my life-long love of drawing with my clay forms. Today I work with the lighter pallette of porcelain - which lends itself to my hand-drawn story images. I've always loved animals and birds and flowers and I'm enchanted by fairytales and fantasy and mermaids and by Emily Dickinson's poetry.

My pottery is created using a few basic tools, an enormous rolling pin, and a kickwheel. Most of my work is hand-built from porcelain slab, which are often first rolled on various textures. Then I often add stamped and drawn areas and as the spirit moves me perhaps a special word or line of poetry. After bisque firing, I paint colored glazes into my designs, then apply wax to some areas and dip the whole pot. The work is then high-fired in my gas reduction kiln.

All of my work is food-safe and durable and designed to be used and enjoyed.
