Are you suffering from spring fever? After months of cold and snow in Maine, it’s easy to get anxious for warmer days and the summer growing season. Cathy Schroeder Hammond’s bright, colorful and leafy pottery may be just what you need to lift your spirits.
Cathy has been making stoneware pottery in Maine since the early 1990’s. About ten years into that lifestyle came an order for a large vase that needed to match a floral arrangement - in pink! That was just the beginning of Cathy’s signature floral-tone glazes, and her leaf and flower inspired surface brushwork.
This work is sturdy stoneware, non-toxic, and safe for oven, microwave and dishwasher (as long as sudden temperature change is avoided). Invite some cheer into your kitchen. You may just understand when Cathy says, “‘Walking into my studio and seeing all the color, just makes me happy.”
